My semi-abstract portrait series (Head Games) continues with Crossroads. Unlike other paintings from the series, Crossroads is a departure from my traditional approach of compositional structure. The painting places less emphasis on outlined fragment borders. While strong black line work is still a critical element (as it is in much of my work), the border outlines are now broken. This creates a cartographic dreamscape — forming a visual narrative implied by its title.

Almost like a map, the lines act like pathways that suggest movement, routes and intersections — not literal ones, but the kinds we navigate by our own thinking. The composition employs a tetradic color palette — dominated by complementary pairs in green and warm purple, augmented with blue and yellow — that produces a vibrant, layered, semi-abstract range of color harmony.

Rather than aiming for a single meaning, I wanted to show a moment of inner decision, transition and personal evolution for me. A visual expression of what it means to stand between what has been and what could be. See the study for this painting here.
